Experience Parasailing
In Beautiful Siesta Key

Sarasota and Siesta Key's Best and Most Experienced Parasail Company

Parasailing offers a unique way to experience Siesta Key from above within a safe and highly controlled environment.

Flights are conducted from USCG inspected vessels operated by licensed USCG Master Captains and trained crew. Each trip accommodates up to 12 passengers, allowing multiple guests to participate in a single outing without increasing vessel traffic on the water.

The experience begins well before takeoff. As the vessel travels through local waterways, guests often encounter bottlenose dolphins, seabirds, and other marine life moving naturally through the area. Along the way, our captains share insight into the surrounding environment, including local wildlife, navigation routes, and coastal features that make this area unique.

Up to three guests can fly together, lifting smoothly from a seated position on the back deck as the parasail is deployed using a winch system and Kevlar towline. The ascent is gradual and controlled, offering clear views of the coastline, sandbars, and water below.

For those who choose, the captain can incorporate a controlled dip toward the water or a light splash before returning to the vessel.

The experience continues on the return trip, where wildlife sightings and time on the water remain an important part of the outing, not just the flight itself.

Operations are designed to prioritize safety, efficiency, and a well managed experience for every guest on board.

All flights provide a terrific intracoastal tour where we often see dolphins and manatees as we cruise by the incredible homes along the intracoastal waterway on our way out to the Gulf.

Please plan on enjoying approximately 2 1/2 hours with us for the entire boat trip.

“We had an absolutely unforgettable experience with Greg and Brian on Sunday! It was our first time parasailing and from start to finish they made us feel completely at ease. They were professional, attentive, hilarious, and knew exactly how to turn nervous excitement into pure adrenaline fueled joy. They made the entire adventure so special for my daughter and I, the kind of memory you talk about for years. If you’re even thinking about parasailing, stop thinking and book with them. We even had the added bonus of seeing dolphins!”

FAQs about Siesta Key Parasailing

Whether you’ve gone on a parasail experience before or this is your first time, you likely have some questions about parasailing in Siesta Key. Here are some answers to the most common questions we get about parasailing near Sarasota.

Wondering how much parasailing costs in Siesta Key or Sarasota? This is a question we get asked all of the time. In Siesta Key, the cost to parasail typically ranges from about $89–$109 per person, depending on the flight package you choose. Most parasailing companies also offer observer spots for family or friends who want to ride on the boat without actually flying.

At Siesta Key Watersports, current parasailing options include:

    • Premium Flight — $99 per person
1,000 feet of line with approximately 12 minutes of flight time
    • Platinum Flight — $109 per person
1,200 feet of line with approximately 12–15 minutes of flight time
    • Observers — $60 per person
      Available if capacity allows

Curious about how long a parasailing trip lasts? The actual flight itself is usually around 12–15 minutes depending on the package you book, but the overall experience lasts longer.

Most parasailing trips include:

  • Check-in and waivers
  • Safety instructions
  • Scenic boat ride through the Intracoastal Waterway
  • Shuttle ride out to the parasail vessel
  • Your parasail flight
  • Return ride back to the dock

At Siesta Key Watersports most parasail trips last around 2.5 hours total. For many guests, the boat ride becomes part of the experience itself, as it’s common to spot dolphins, seabirds, marine wildlife, and beautiful views of Siesta Key along the way.

Wondering how high you go parasailing? Most parasailing flights use either 1,000 feet or 1,200 feet of line, depending on the package you choose and weather conditions that day.

At Siesta Key Watersports, the Premium Flight includes 1,000 feet of line with approximately 12 minutes of flight time, while the Platinum Flight includes 1,200 feet of line with approximately 12–15 minutes of flight time.

From up above, you can usually see:

  • Siesta Key Beach
  • The Gulf of Mexico
  • Sarasota Bay
  • Sandbars and boats below
  • Sometimes dolphins, manatees, or stingrays in clear water

One of the coolest parts about parasailing is how different everything looks from above. The water changes colors, boats look tiny below you, and on clear days, you can see for miles along the coastline. For many guests, the views end up being their favorite part of the entire experience.

“Do you get wet parasailing?” is a question we get all the time, usually by someone who does not want to get wet. The answer is “Sometimes – but usually only if you want to.”

Many parasail crews offer a quick “toe dip” at the end of the flight where your feet lightly skim the water before landing back on the boat. If you’d rather stay dry, you can typically let the crew know ahead of time.

Most parasailing companies, including operations in Siesta Key, use a combined weight range rather than a strict single-person limit. Around 450 pounds combined weight is a common maximum for parasailing tandem or triple flights, though limits can vary throughout the day depending on:

  • Wind conditions
  • Weather
  • Sea conditions
  • Flight configuration
  • Number of riders flying together

On calmer days, crews often require more combined weight to allow the parasail to safely lift and maintain flight. On windier days, the allowable combined weight may be lower.

There is also typically a minimum combined weight requirement, especially for tandem flights, to help ensure safe takeoff and landing conditions.

Final weight decisions are made by the captain based on real-time weather, wind, and water conditions at the time of the trip. Captains continuously monitor changing conditions throughout the day and may adjust flight pairings or weight limits as needed to maintain safe operating conditions.
